New York Steak with Garlic Butter

Ingredients

  • 2Painted Hills Natural Beef New York Steaks
  • 1Tbsp.olive oil
  • 12onion
  • 4Cloves grated garlic
  • 4Tbsp.butter
  • 2Tbsp.capers
  • 1Tsp.kosher salt
  • 1Tsp.table ground black pepper
  • 2Tsp.of your chosen steak seasoning, “Montreal Steak” is a good one

Instructions

  1. Bring steaks to room temperature
  2. In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, and the steak seasoning
  3. Apply dry rub to all sides of steak
  4. Prepare onions and 2 tbsp butter for use later
  5. Using a cast iron skillet, add olive oil and heat the skillet to medium-high heat.
  6. Cook steaks in skillet for roughly 2 minutes on the first side
  7. After flipping the steaks, add in the garlic, onions and 2 tbsp butter: cook for another 2 minutes
  8. Place steaks onions and garlic on a plate and cover for 5 to 10 minutes
  9. In a small microwave-safe bowl, microwave the 2 tbsp butter until fully melted. Stir in the capers.
  10. Cut steaks against the grain and plate them
  11. Apply melted butter, capers, garlic and onions to steak
  12. Serve and enjoy
