How to Cook a T-Bone with Eric:

While most people know their way around the grill enough to cook good t-bone steaks, we’re here to help you take the flavors to the next level. Our first tip to kick it up a notch is to cook with sous vide. Dive into this t-bone steak recipe for more tips to cook a delicious medium-rare, mouthwatering steak for two.

A little about our beef:
The families of Painted Hills Natural Beef have been ranching in Central Oregon, specifically Wheeler County, in the shadow of the state’s famed Painted Hills, for generations. While times have changed in the last two and a half decades, our methods of ranching the way nature intended have not. Pasture raising our cattle without the use of added hormones and never given antibiotics. It means taking the time, care, and effort to do things right. It means raising a beef product for you that’s as striking as the natural wonders it’s named after.

Ingredients

  • 128 OZ Painted Hills Natural Beef T-Bone steak
  • 1salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. bring steak to room temperature and leave in provided plastic vacuum seal
  2. pre heat a sous vide to 125° F with the appropriate amount of water
  3. add steak to the sous vide and allow to cook for 2 hours
  4. just before the 2 hours is up, get a charcoal grill lit and to temp
  5. 243574831_175768371387649_4295807606524123042_n after removing the steak from the sous vide, remove the plastic vacuum seal bag, salt and pepper to taste and place them on the pre heated charcoal grill for 45 seconds on each side to sear

  7. 247391188_240520121295478_1427061125204226961_n debone and slice into 1/4" to 1/2" strips cross grain
  8. serve and enjoy
