How To Cut a Beef Tenderloin

1 purchase, 10 steaks. The tenderloin is often cut into smaller portions, like filet mignon or Chateaubriand, but can also be cooked whole. To be inspired on how to use the whole tenderloin, see our video below where Scott explains how to trim and cut a whole tenderloin into several cooking options.

What is a tenderloin?

A tenderloin comes from the loin that runs along the spine. They’re one of the most tender and lean cuts available. The tenderness of this cut comes from the fact that the muscle it is derived from does very little work. You can expect a buttery texture and mild flavor from a tenderloin, making them a popular choice for high-end dishes and special occasions. Because of its tenderness, tenderloins are often cooked with minimal seasoning to let their natural flavor shine.

A little about our beef:

Ranchers of Painted Hills Natural Beef are in Wheeler County, Central Oregon, and raise cattle while stewarding the land in the shadow of the state’s famed Painted Hills. So, while times have changed in 25 years, ranching the way nature intended has not. Above all, we are proud to pasture-raise cattle without added hormones and no antibiotics. We raise a beef product as striking as the natural wonders it’s named after. Again, we thank you for trusting us to feed you, your friends, and your family. Please share the finished product with us at Painted Hills Natural Beef on Facebook and Instagram.
